Kentucky Personal Injury & Workers’ Compensation Resources
Kentucky Transportation Cabinet – This is the official transportation agency for the commonwealth, responsible for the management of all roads, highways, parkways and interstates in Kentucky. For traffic and road conditions, go to 511. To check compliance with vehicle title, registration and insurance regulations, see the Division of Motor Vehicle Licensing.
Distraction.gov – This is the official U.S. website covering distracted driving issues such as texting while driving or handheld use of a cell phone while driving. Use this website for facts and statistics and other research on the risks of a car crash due to distracted driving. You can also learn about Kentucky cell phone and texting bans here.
National Highway Traffic Safety Administration – The NHTSA website provides information and statistics on vehicle safety, including drunk driving and distracted driving.
Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration – The FMCSA can be a valuable resource if you were injured in a truck accident with an 18-wheeler or other commercial vehicle. From their website you can learn about federal trucking safety regulations to see if the trucker and trucking company were in compliance with safety laws at the time of the accident. You an also review safety records and the accident history of the trucking company by searching the Safety and Fitness Electronic Records (SAFER) database.
Motorcycle Safety Foundation – This organization provides safe riding courses and helps to raise awareness about distracted driving and sharing the road with motorcyclists. Another good resource regarding motorcycle accidents in Kentucky is the American Motorcycle Association website, which provides a quick look at Kentucky motorcycle laws.
Yield to Life – This organization provides safety tips and advice to prevent motorcycle and bicycle accidents. Another good resource is the Pedestrian and Bicycle Information Center, which provides a look at pedestrian and bicycle safety in Kentucky.
Kentucky Board of Medical Licensure – This board licenses all medical and osteopathic physicians in Kentucky and takes disciplinary action against them when they violate the Medical Practice Act. Use their website to verify a medical license or review a physician profile, or to file a grievance about medical malpractice or other professional misconduct.
Department of Workers’ Claims – DWC is the agency charged with the administration of workers’ compensation claims in Kentucky. At this website, you can file a request to retrieve records online, get directions to the DWC office, find hearing locations or learn about the process for disputes and appeals.
Brain Injury Association of America – This organization provides information and resources for persons living with traumatic brain injury (TBI) and also offers support and resources for friends and family. You might also want to check out the Brain Trauma Foundation. For information about diagnosis, treatment and management of brain injuries, see the Centers for Disease Control or the National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke.
Foundation for Spinal Cord Injury Prevention, Care & Cure – Find information and support for friends, family and persons living with paraplegia, quadriplegia or other spinal cord injury. Other support organizations include Determined2Heal and the Darrell Gwynn Foundation. Kentucky Customer Service Website – CSWS is the official website for Kentucky child support information. This website is for both the custodial parent and the non-custodial parent to access information about their case. The website also has a link for employers to find out about child support wage withholding.
Child Support Calculator – Use this CSWS service to estimate the amount of child support that may be ordered in your case, based on the information you provide regarding the number of children to be supported and parental incomes. Keep in mind that this is only an estimate.
Office of Child Support Enforcement – This is a federal office that works with CSWS to enforce orders for child support. OCSE can also help track down absent parents with their Federal Parent Locator Service. For immediate help in getting child support paid, contact an experienced family law attorney in your area.

Kentucky Court of Justice – Use this website to obtain a criminal record report, access public court records, or get information on the expungement certification process to have your criminal record cleared. You can also find information on the Scott County courthouse or other county circuit courts.
Kentucky Department of Corrections – Use this website to locate facilities or an inmate, find out the rules for visiting an inmate, or learn more about probation and parole.
